BAM Bags®

Beauty and craftsmanship that will never go out of style.

Beth A. Metsch’s love of design is evident in her beautifully crafted purses.  “A building can take years,” she muses, “but I can design a bag, sew it that day, and wear it by evening.

While practicing architecture in New York City, Beth began designing limited-edition leather handbags, fabric totes, and diaper bags.  Friends started asking for their own bags, and store employees inquired about the designer.  It seemed like an opportune time to transition from buildings to bags.

The ZIPPURSE® by BAM Bags® was born when Beth’s mother asked for a purse made of zippers.  A competition ensued after Beth and her mother bought a roll of zipper, split it in half, and retired to their respective sewing machines.  Beth’s prototype, made of one continuous zipper, completely entertained her mother!  Beth’s mother ordered a few of the bags as did a lot of stores.  The ZIPPURSE® BAM Bags® is so unique that it has earned three patents.

The perfect blend of craftsmanship and art is apparent in Beth’s line of original designs.  Her use of color, form, and style is culled from years of traveling through more than twenty-seven countries.  Beth is always searching for new and innovative ideas to make her bags beautiful and functional.

Beth holds a Professional Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from the University of Miami and a Master’s in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University.  When not traveling, Beth and her family live in Denver, Colorado.

As functional as it is fun.
